Unigeo: A Vintage Tribute to Geometric Modularity

Unigeo, crafted by Cosimo Lorenzo Pancini with Francesco Canovaro's expertise, pays homage to the vintage computing design ethos. This typeface exudes an era of geometric modularity, featuring ultra-tight tracking and a vibrant, striped rainbow palette. Its aim? To breathe new life into the geometric sans genre by infusing it with a nostalgic charm, while maintaining a focus on its modular, constructed aesthetic.

Like classic gaming systems, Unigeo offers three "memory versions": 32, 64, and 128. Unigeo 64, the flagship family, caters to displays and logos with its tight tracking and iconic letterforms inspired by vintage design and photo-lettering eras. In contrast, Unigeo 32 opts for more contemporary shapes, making it a versatile workhorse for text, logos, and displays due to its varied weight range.

The Unigeo 128 subfamily takes the core skeleton and applies a striped treatment, reminiscent of optical art and modernist computer logos. Across all versions, Unigeo boasts eight weights—from Thin to Extrabold—amounting to 40 styles. Each style offers an extended character set supporting Latin, Cyrillic, and Greek languages.

With full OpenType features, including positional numbers, ligatures, and alternate glyphs, Unigeo is a powerhouse of typographic versatility. Additionally, each subfamily offers a variable font version, ensuring adaptability to diverse design needs. Whether evoking nostalgia or embracing modernity, Unigeo stands as a testament to the timeless allure of vintage-inspired design.
